When the ice opens up on that little pond up the road, this will be the first pattern I’ll use to provoke it’s thawing bluegills into striking. When I put the streamer boxes away on my favorite trout stream, this will probably be the first subsurface patten I tie on. When I get to that secret smallie spot for the first time, and this fly is still secured to my 6wt’s hook keeper, I’ll probably leave it on, or replace it with it’s big brother. Even the common carp can’t help but go for this 30 second fly pattern
Simply put, the “Awesome” produces.

This is simplicity and elegance in it’s best form. This is the \kind of fly that catches all kinds of fish all kinds of the time….

Thanks, Robin. Doesn’t get much more simple than this.

Finally got around to ordering some Angelina Fibers. I’d have thought them easy enough to obtain locally here in D/FW. not so much the case….

What do you think of them in person, Robin?
I don’t know of anyplace to get them locally where I live either. I learned of the material through a friend, Keith Barton, who writes the Singlebarbed blog- http://www.singlebarbed.com. One day I came home from work to find a huge box sitting on my doorstep from Keith. I wasn’t expecting anything and was kind of confused at what it might be. It didn’t tick, so I opened it up to find a near lifetime supply of several colors and a couple types of Angelina fibers, and a few other goodies, inside. If you go to his blog and search “angelina”, you’ll find all sorts of good, helpful info.

I love the fly! I did a search online for Angelina Fibers and found like a million colors. If you don’t mind, which color of Angelina Fibers did you use for this particular fly?
