    Mr. McPhail
This is a great brown trout fly. Well at least for me it is. Keep up the great work.
    All the best

Excellent pattern Davie, You have a great eye for detail. I can see this fly working very well here in New Zealand. Particually on some of our shallow lakes around the weed beds. Well done and thanks.

Tied your heather snatcher(substituting soft claret collar hackle as I had no red pheasant tail) Tried it on a dour wee hill loch with a reputation for hard to catch big fish. It was blowing a gale with waves crashing on the shore .Within 10 mins I had a very angry and acrobatic 3 lber , followed by 3 more fish between 1 and 2 lbs(returned)Wild trout fishing does not get any better than this. I kept the big one as despite being a deep well formed trout it had jaws like a pike and on examination ita stomach contained a 4inch vole! Thanks for the dressing.
