Videos — By HatchesMagazine on August 7, 2009 3:22 pmThis famous Farmington River caddis pattern is tied in this tutorial. The fly is tied in its original state, with some emphasis on exact tying specifics. A great pupa pattern for any fishery that has wingless skating caddis pupa.

what kind of hackle pliers are those? I have tried everything and they all stink but that one looks like it has holding power.
For the winter caddis pupa patterns for hook sizes 18 to 22, what thickness foam is used?
Thanks
Tony,
Believe it or not, the “hackle pliers” he is using come from Radio shack and are used to hold small wires when soldering. The last time I bought some they came in a package of two that was under $5. I’m thinking $1.50, but I may be wrong. They work great, btw.
