Materials:
Hook: Tiemco 2457Bloodworm Red
Bead: Bloodworm Red Nymph-Head Heavy Metal tungsten bead
Thread: UTC 70 Red
Tails: Red Goose Biots
Abdomen: Bloody Black Leech Tri-Lobal Dubbing
Rib: UTC Red Wire
Shellback: Red Pearl Mirage Tinsel
Legs: Black Pheasant Tail Fibers
Thorax: Bloody Black Leech Tr-Lobal Dubbing
Eyes: DecoColor Yellow Paint Pen

Tying Instructions:

Step 1:

Slide a bead on the hook and mount the hook in your vise. Push the bead back on the hook then wrap a layer of tying thread at the front of the hook just thin enough so the bead will slide over it, whip finish and cut the thread. Add a small drop of superglue to the thread and slide the bead forward. Make sure the bead is oriented with the bead eyes on the sides of the fly. Re-mount the thread and make a layer on the hook to about 1/3 of the way around the bend. Make a small ball of dubbing at this point.

Step 2:

Mount biot tails on each side of the dubbing ball.

Step 3:

Attach Rib to the bottom of the hook.

Step 4:

Dub the Abdomen.

Step 5:

Reverse wrap the wire forward, tie it off and break off the excess wire. Mount the Mirage tinsel to the top of the hook in front of the abdomen. The tinsel should extend over the back of the fly.

Step 6:

Tie in a bundle of pheasant tail fibers with the tips extending backward and about even with the tips of the tails.

Step 7:

Trim the butts of the pheasant tail fibers and dub a thorax.

Step 8:

Pull the pheasant tail fibers forward over the thorax and tie down. Split the pheasant tail fibers into to equal bunches and pull the bunches to the sides of the fly, wrap over them to hold in place.

Step 9:

Pull the tinsel over the thorax and tie down in front of the pheasant tail fiber tips, this will help push the tips backward. Pull the thorax toward the back of the fly and trim off about ¼ the length of the thorax. Whip finish in front of the tinsel tie down point.

Step 10:

Paint the eyes on the bead with the yellow paint pen.
