Dr. Slick Razor and Twisted Loop scissors

Any tier knows the importance of a good pair of SHARP scissors.  And when you talk about scissors, the name Dr. Slick in always in the mix.  But scissors are just that, scissors and any pair will do, right?  Wrong.  I recently pick up two pairs of Dr. Slicks that are above and beyond a typical cutting tool… the adjustable tension Razor Scissor and the twisted Loop Scissors (both the 4” models).

One thing I have always liked Dr. Slick is the over-sized finger loops, and the Razor s are no different.  They are solid in the hand while not feeling clumsy, and sharp enough for a clean quick cut on the softest materials.  When you pair this sharpness with the adjustable tension, a fast clean cut of single feather barb in thoughtless.  Precision cuts are when the adjustable tension feature really shines.  Being able to tighten down, gives the user unparallel control for an exact cut.  The easily overlooked rubber stop makes cuts smooth and flawless, and is now a feature I want on every scissor…. When it comes to control, these scissors can’t be beat.

For those who tie with scissors in hand, the Twisted Loop is a must have.  The pat. pending design provides a level of comfort that will make you forget they’re in your hand.  So much so, the first 15 minutes at the bench with the Twisted Loop had me constantly looking down for my scissors.  This new offset design allows your index finger a level of mobility not afforded in traditional scissors.  Also, the offset handle allows for precise cuts when the loops are at the base of your fingers.  The Twisted Loop’s cutting surface, weight, and construction are of the quality you expect with Dr. Slick… with a design you shouldn’t tie without.

The Razor comes in 4” or 5” with a straight non-serrated blade, and the Twisted Loop is available in 3.5”, 4”, or 4.5” sizes with a straight serrated blade.
