Winters Hope on ProTube
featured, Videos — By Kevin Hospodar on January 24, 2011 10:35 amWinters Hope is a great steelhead pattern developed by Bill McMillan in the 1970s. While the original is tied on a eye up salmon hook or steelhead iron, Tony Torrence ties his version on a Pro Tube. Tube fly construction can be a bit confusing to a tier just getting started, but as Tony shows, the Pro Tube system incorporates the junction tube (the section of tube that holds the hook) to the section of tube that makes up the body of the fly.
