We are always on the lookout for new patterns from our forum (flytyingforum.com). Member “Dronlee” has a great shrimp/ crawfish pattern… The Shrimp X.
Hook – Gamakatsu
Shell – Furry foam
Eye – Epoxy burn mono eye
Dubbibd – Pink and brown dub
Legs – 1 pair or knob biot leg and mini rubber legs
Pheasant tail fiber, Flashabou and bead chain
Tie in the Pheasant tail fiber, Flashabou and pink dubbing

Tie in the foam and a pair of knob biot leg

Tie in the eye and dub in the brown dubbing

Fold over the furry foam and tie down

Trim the tail and the Shrimp X is ready

this looks cool but isnt there a way of getting away from the beadchain near the hook eye? whenever i do this with beadchain at one end and eyes at the other my flies look like some wooly automobile float out of a parade
This looks like it would do well in the flats – estuaries; where do you fish it?
