Hot glue gun (two temp.)
Needle
Plumber’s tape
Ribbing material- Fine wire or thread
Caddis hook
Dubbing
Winging
Wrap (once) a needle with some plumber tape, color with a felt pen and place in the vise
Cover with the Hot glue. This is the tricky part; squeezing VERY GENTLY the trigger of the hot gun, touch the needle and pull back the muzzle of the gun a 1/4 inch (+ or -) so to form a ribbon of glue.
Rotating he head of the vise, move your hand back and forth so to form a body.
Let the glue cool until it holds from and is still pliable. Wrap a rib forward for a segmented body.
After a couple of minutes pull the tape and all off the needle, then pull the tape off the body.Pass a piece of mono through the hole left by the needle, burn the end of it (next to the tail end of the body) and still hot pull it so to tough the end of the body. The heat will melt them together. Now you have your extended body.
Tie in the hot glue body
Add dubbing
Add wings
whip finish and trim for a completed fly
In the water…
