Tag: None *
Tail: Scarlet quill sections
Ribbing: Gold tinsel
Body: Green floss
Hackle: Badger gray **
Wing: Gray mallard

* The Just Fishing recipe for the Grizzly King includes a gold tinsel tag.
** Though differing from the Trout recipe the Grizzly King may also tied with grizzly hackle. Grizzly hen feathers seem more appropriate, if in name only, for the Grizzly King than badger.
The Grizzly King was a local favorite in my home north-central Pennsylvania area when I was growing up. Practically every wet fly fisherman had the Grizzly King in their boxes. Like the Governor, it was a popular night fishing pattern. The Grizzly King was also common as a dry fly pattern.
