The fishing community has lost a great angler, icon, and friend. We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Jose Wejebe, host of the immensely popular saltwater fishing and fly fishing television show Spanish Fly on the Outdoor Channel. Through his show and his adventures he shared a passion for fishing that touched and inspired anglers around the world.
Watch the full 30min tribute show for some great moment and history stretching back to the 1st ep in 1995.

I knew him and fished with him. He was a kind wonderful person. I loved his childlike enthusiasm and loved to watch someone else catch fish. The world fishing community has lost an ambassador. His films show him exactly as he was on and off the water.
I to was shocked when I sat down to watch the weekly show and it opened with the memoriam, I was a slow follower but as I became a weekly viewer I became to appreciate all of his contributions and now regret that I didn’t catch on sooner he was the real deal and hope he finds all the peace and that his family are in my thoughts.
