  1. IT is an interesting use of grey tag at the end of the fly, George Herter once wrote on the use of the effect that atag of fur would just as well as a gravel-”coloured” use of fur. Seems as, yet-still, the work of Brooks has yet to be separated from Herter. Some tying standard wet flies might or may go with the shorter head; however, just as if the thinner-modern threads require the same bulk, smaller heads might work even better.
