Abel Nippers

Abel is well known for their high quality fly reels, and more recently their quality line of accessories. The newest product to their line is “The Abel Nippers”. These are not your dollar store fingernail clippers… in both quality and function. Abel is proud to have the nippers “designed, manufactured and assembled in the USA”. Besides the high quality domestic parts and construction, these feature replaceable jaws and a integrated hook cleaner.

The true test of nippers… DO THEY CUT?
YES! and very well.
The Abel nippers are unique in that they will cut anything. No more is there a need for light nippers and heavy cutters. From 7x to 100lb fluorocarbon, these nippers cut. (Yes, I pulled out 100lb fluorocarbon, and it cut like butter). Don’t believe it? Abel does. Enough so, they offer a 2yr warranty on the jaws.

The hook eye cleaner and the removable jaws close with a heavy duty spring and there is a free-moving stainless lanyard ring. All around this is a quality product that is built to last and completely safe for saltwater use.

Great review of these fantastic nippers. The only thing I would add is that it is not just a “two year warranty” on the jaws but a two year replacement policy. Not to split hairs but for $6.00 you can send in the jaws and have them completely replaced. So, if you happen to cut wire or drop them in the boat you can send in the jaws and Abel will replace them.

I have been using mine for about 9 months now and love them. A bit pricey but I have spend way more than $50.00 or $100.00 on nippers over the past 35 years of fishing.

I can’t believe anyone would pay $100, I struggle to pay $20 for fishpond nippers, I find it insulting to charge this much for a product

To find any price asked for a product as insulting is absurd. Guess what? Don’t buy them.
