4000 flies in one fly box?
Yeah Montana Fly Company did that.

Back in August at the IFTD show I was cruising all the cool stuff at the MFC booth and happened upon their new MFC Boat Box (winner in the Fly Box/Storage System category). Most people (like me) want to fish as light as possible, and with as few fly boxes as possible. The MFC Bot Box, with its mixed styles of foam and cool swing leaf design, allows for everything to live in one box. Plus it is entirely waterproof and made from super-durable ABS plastic. They come in a range of solid colors, and soon will be available in the MFC artist series prints.

Tiny dries?
nymphs?
trout streamers?
Big meaty streamers for pike and musky?

This box holds them all!
Multiple styles of foam allow for lots of flexibility.

Quality construction makes this a bomb-proof box. So if you stacking it in a drift boat or banging it on the rocks.. you have no worries that your flies are safe.
4 heavy latches and full waterproof sealing means it stays shut and flies stay put and dry.
2 front latches…

One latch per side…

Full rubber gaskets that make the box 100% waterproof

The standout feature of the box is the removeable swng leaf, which allows for double the available storage space. While the ability to hold 4000 flies is enough of a reason to buy the box… there is also the protection of your flies while in the box. The main shell offers deep sides and allows the swing leaf to rest in the middle, keeping the flies from touching. Which means no crushed hackles, smashed heads, or color bleeding.

Removable attachment on the center spine…

Deep sides…

that allow for the leaf to close while still protecting flies

This box should be available at all MFC fly shops.

The MFC Boat Box looks like a fine product — when it’s at last available for purchase. It seems misleading, however, to have reviews in several consecutive issues of “Hatches” for a product not to be available for several months.
