Joe Cordeiro ties a single wing Flatwing Fly by Tightlines Productions (
http://www.tightlinevideo.com). A great large profile fly with little bulk, the flatwing is a favorite with Striper fisherman. Be sure to check out the under water footage of the flatwing to see how the materials build a large body with great movement. The technique for tying in the bucktail not only creates height, but width as well.

Great instructional video. Would like to see a triple wing tied as well. Flat wingers can go to stripermoon.com to visit Ken Abrames on flatwings also.
very nice fly, i think i will tie some and try them, i fish KOOTENAY LAKE, ARROW LAKES, AND SLOCAN LAKE IN SOUTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA, ALSO THE COLUMBIA RIVER..BARRIE
Wow! I love the eyes; what is that material (for the eyes)? I’d like to give this a try in the flats here in FL. A 1X is kinda’ big for Snook but other Salt water prey is would be ok.
Again, what is the material for the eyes?
They are Jungle Cock eyes from a male Jungle Fowl. They are most often used when tying salmon flies.
A quality neck with a good size range of feathers can be hard to find and isn’t going to be cheap, but they sure do look good.
Great step by step, use these flies myself. for the in the UK, and also for Sewin (sea run browns)
Thank you for taking the time, to share with use.
Tight lines,
