The James is very similar to both the Quack Doctor and the Montreal Silver. My friends and I have had great fishing success with any number of tinsel-bodied wet flies, in particular silver, but we do tend to use silver-bodied patterns more often than gold. I have never fished the James but one of my customers had good success with it during a 2011 fishing trip to the Adirondacks.
