Rylee’s LiL’ Helper is an easy tie midge/larva pattern that has had great success on the White River and Taneycomo (50+ fish days). Straight forward and durable pattern, no fluff.

Material:
Thread: Cream UTC 140
Hook: Gamakatsu C12U size 16, smaller sizes any small scud hook
Body: Clear midge V-rib
Wings/Gills: Brown Antron
Thorax: Sand Antron dubbing
Head: 5/64 Nickel tungsten bead

Put your bead on and attach your thread. If you’re using the C12U keep your bead on the smallest size that will fit the hook, so it doesn’t take away from your hook gap.

Tie in the v-rib.

Wrap the v-rib about halfway between the point of the hook and the bead head.

Tie in the brown antron use about half the strands.

Dub a small thorax and pull the strands of antron over the thorax.

Split the strands in half pulling them on the sides of the thorax, whip finish, and trim the strands fairly short.

Put a small drop of Clear Cure Goo or similar on top of the thorax.
