Brad from Southen Water Designs has continued turning out some great work leading into the winter, and the new “Wings” artwork is already slapped on my camera case and laptop.
For years I have exclusively used custom built rods from Midwest Custom Fly Rods. Steve has been a close friend for a very long time and to this day I am astonished and some of his creations. He has recently launched his own “Warrior Series” line of prebuilt rods that can be purchased immediately instead of waiting to have him custom build a rod. Like his custom rods the Warrior Series rods have his own unique style and amazing details that you can’t find on rods sitting on a shelf in a fly shop.

Several months ago we launched the GreenCaddis brand of fly tying hooks to complement our fly boxes and scissors. We are excited and encouraged by the feedback our customers have given us and we are moving into the next phase of the process which is to introduce more styles and sizes. As the temperature drops and the fishing slows we move into “tying season” and this year as you stock your boxes for next year we hope you can consider giving GreenCaddis hooks a try.

One of the the most important accessories in fly fishing… sunglasses! Everyday on the water, you need eye protection. Be it a bad cast or pulling out a snag… Hooks + eyes = BAD! But, glare reduction and the lack of eye fatigue are just as important.

The performance of Regal vises lies in the unique design of our head and jaws which consistently hold the hook in place better than any of the competitive vises on the market, and allows for immediate change in hook sizes with absolutely no adjustments. This saves time and frustration and the tier can meet the demands of the next fishing outing in one tying session.
The new Rio Hover Line is a innovative specialty line that should catch the eye of a range of anglers. Traditionally “intermediate” lines have a sink rate of 2ips (inches per second). This new line has a sink rate of 1ips, and while it technically lives in the same realm as sinks and intermediate lines… […]
You wouldn’t drive a railroad spike with a small finishing hammer… and you don’t want to throw big streamers with a long fine taper dry fly line. The Titan has a lot of mass up front in the double taper. which allows for the delivery of big flies. You also get the ability to generate fast line speed with minimal backcast… which in non-geek-speak means less chance of crushing yourself with a large hook and more time with the fly in the water.
