Sulfer Funneldun

tied by ericom3

Material List:
Tail: Ginger Spade Hackle Fibers,or Fibettes
Body: Sulfer Dyed Hackle Quill or dubbing of choice
Thoraxes: Sulfer Dubbing
Hackle: Ginger Rooster (Oversized by 1 to 2 hook sizes)
Hook: Standard dry fly hook (turned up eye preferred)

Start thread near hook eye,and dub a small ball of fur, right behind eye. Tie in hackle and wind 3 to 5 turns. Pull hackle forward over eye,and secure with thread,so hackle has a marked forward attitude. Mount tail fibers,so that tail follows the bend of the hook. A bit of experimentation might be required to find out just how "cocked" the tail should be.
Dub or wrap body up to hackle. Dub another "ball"just behind hackle, further pushing it forward. Whip finish at rear of hackle.
