Thread: Uni Thread 6/0, black
Wing: 4 saddle hackles, white
Cheeks: Lady Amherst tippets, natural
Hackle: Strung hackle, red
Eyes: Edson gold cheeks (courtesy Mark, aka mvendon)
Tie in wing, cheeks, hackle. Trim tabs of Edsons and tie in. Build a nice head, whip, snip, and cement.

Body Hackle: Guinea
Rib: Oval Tinsel, silver
Wing: Hen hackle, black
Collar: Red strung saddle, guinea
Tie in rib and guinea by the tip. Dub body and palmer guinea. Prep wing and tie in. Wrap rib through body and wing in Matuka style (counter to body hackle). Wrap collar. Whip, snip, and fish.

Hook: Mustad 3399A, size 12
Thread: Uni Thread 8/0, black
Tail: White pearl Krystal Flash, 4 strands
Body: Peacock herl, rear 1/2 red, front 1/2 natural
Rib: Uni Thread tag
Hackle: Black hen hackle
Wing: Black hen hackle tips, tented
Start thread and run eye to bend, leaving several inches of teh tag hanging out the back (this will be the rib to reinforce the body). Tie in tail. Palmer red herl, then natural up the body. Counter rib with the thread tag. Two turns of hackle, then tie in the hackle-tip wings tented over the the body with the tips slightly separated. Whip, snip, and fish.

Thread: Uni Thread 6/0, brown for tail; Kevlar for body
Tail: Two brown hen hackles, splayed; rootbeer Krystal Flash
Body: Two tones of natural deer hair with a band of red deer hair
Tie in the tail hackles and flash. Whip, snip, and cement tail tie in. Spin deer hair body in your desired color scheme. Trim the body to a cigar shape.

Tail: Lt. Blue Dun hackle
Body: Olive synthetic dubbing
Hackle: Lt. Blue Dun hackle
Start with tying in and setting the quill wings. Then start with the tail and work your way forward.

Hook: Mustad 3261, size 8
Thread: Uni Thread 8/0, olive
Abdomen: Olive and natural deer mair, mixed and spun
Thorax/head: Olive deer hair, spun
Legs: Lemon-dyed mallard, olive saddle hackle
Eyes: Burned mono, colored black
Mix, spin, and trim the thorax. Apply wrap or two of mallard, tie in saddle hackle by the tip. Whip and snip thread. slid piece of plastic bag over shank and agianst hackle. Restart thread, tie in eyes, and spin and trim thorax/head. Tear out the plastic and palmer saddle forward through thorax/head. Tie off and trim fibers from top of thorax/head. Whip, snip, and fish.

Bead: Bright Bead, black 1/8″
Body: Peacock herl
Wing: Marabou, black
Tie in 4-6 herls at the bend, wrap around thread, and wrap forward aound shank. Tie in marabou about twice the length of the shank. Whip, snip, and fish. It’s just that easy.

Claws: Red Fox tail gaurd hairs
Antenae: Moose mane, rootbeer Krystal Flash
Eyes: Burned mono, colored black
Legs: Large hackle, brown
Body: Red Fox Tail underfur
Shellback: Swiss Straw, brown
Ribbing: Medium copper wire
Thread conehead to hook eye and then tie in barbell around the first bend. How far around the bend they are determines how high the craw stands. Tie in claws, antenae, eyes, shell back/rib, hackle, and then body, in that order (or something like it).
