This 100% waterproof fly box is a great all around fly box for carrying both dry flies and nymphs. It measures 6 1/2" x 4" x 1 1/2", making it large enough to hold plenty of flies, yet small enough that it will fit in the pockets of most vests or packs. Despite being light weight, this rugged box will easily meet the the demands of discriminating fly anglers. It is available in two different foam types. The Micro Slit foam version has 14 rows, and the Easy Grip Foam option has 20 rows, each of which allows you to carry plenty of flies for a day on the water!

This was my first purchase of a waterproof box and use of micro-slit foam. I've looked at the other brands and shied away because of the cost. These seem to be functionally equivalent. The boxes are surprisingly light for the high volume they offer. (Posted on 10/8/12)

If you are used to buying expensive Orvis, Scientific Angler, or C&F fly boxes, then you must give these boxes a try. I own all of the expensive top name brands and am now buying these instead. These are as good or better and only cost a fraction of the price. These guys are also super nice to deal with and the shipping is very quick. (Posted on 4/15/12)

I just received mine and don't know how it will hold up. I stocked it up and went fishing today for the first time. It worked great (other than perhaps scaring the trout away). The latch, hinges, and microslits all worked flawlessly.

I bought a similar box that was much more expensive and in one season the latch broke. That box also had a very difficult to open latch.

The microslites in the Hatches fly box worked just as well as those in the much more expensive box. The latch was easier to operate. This box feels substantial and I believe I will get more than a season of service from it. Thus in my view the quality at this price can't be beat. (Posted on 2/6/12)
