It Rained Buckets so we went Bucket fishing
The day was planned for an excursion for me and my lovely bride. Our slumber the night before was repeatedly interrupted by thunderstorms and pouring rain. I drifted off to sleep knowing that the river gauges were jumping quickly.
With the rivers blown again and chocolate milk, I frantically checked the water gauges for a river that had the criteria of being fishable, low enough for easy wading , and had limited bushwhacking. None could be found within a 2 hour drive so I grabbed the canoe and headed over to the local puddle.
Mrs. Shaq had limited time with the 7wt to begin with and even less time casting from a sitting position. I was expounding on the benefits of stripping streamers erratically for bass and the fact that the seven weight needed to be thrown with authoriteeeey especially with a 2/0 deceiver on the business end of the tippet when she asked me to show her.
