A new 10-weight from Rise Fishing landed on my doorstep yesterday. Rise is a new rod manufacturer who is bringing a breath of fresh air to the world of fly rods. How, you ask? Well, for starters, their rods feature high quality, lightweight blanks and components, come with a tube and a sock- and an extra tip. Better yet, they retail for under $250, ($229 for 4 and 5-weights, $249 for 6 through 14-weights).

But all of that about-damn-time’ness pales in comparison to what Rise is doing after they get your money.
