Well I will keep things brief for this very first post here on the MCFR blog. mainly because time is at a premium right now as my previous couple weeks consist of 12-16 hour days slaving away at the rod building bench. Why would anyone chain themselves to a bench in a shop for that amount of time you ask. Well it isn’t something I planned on doing for so long each day, but the Midwest Fly Fishing Expo is only a few days away (March 7&8th in Warren MI) and Midwest Custom Fly Rods & Split Cane Blanks.com are going to have a booth at the Expo this year.  So the days of recent have been spent trying to get all the rods, banners, pictures, and other goodies that go along with a show ready for the event.

This is one of the latest rods off the bench at MCFR that will be at the Expo for sale this upcoming weekend
